About Us
Founded in the early 1970's by members of the Triple S Model Boat Club, Brisbane Model Marine's primary goal is to foster and conduct model powerboat racing through club level,
inter-club level and interstate racing events.
The club has access to two freshwater lakes. Our main facility is located on private land near Petrie just north of Brisbane, with three oval racing cources certified for general competition and 1/2km time trial events. We have access to an additional private facility near Gatton to the west of Brisbane.
Members meet every 2nd & 4th Sunday of the month, alternating between racing and testing days. Test & Tune days allow non-racers a chance to run their boats, while at the same time allowing the hardcore racers time for fine tuning before the next race meeting.
Club Address: Entry to the lake is via gate at the end of Barbours Road (next to the Paver Display Centre) off Lawnton Pocket Road, Lawnton. (click the maps below for details).
